Who runs CVS
A management committee along with the staff team has responsibilty for running the organisation. The Management Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting where the full members have a vote.
What are the aims of CVS?
The Council for Voluntary Service is a local project working with all Voluntary and Community groups within the Wigan Borough. The work of voluntary groups is an integral partof life in the Community and must be assisted and supported. Wigan & Leigh CVS aims to provide an invaluable service to Voluntary groups by offering up-to-date information, advice and training to its members.

We are the link between a wide variety of groups, organisations and individuals both within the Wigan Borough and Nationally. The CVS can:
- Help bring people together on issues of common concern
- Arrange feasibility studies
- Organise recruitment and selection training
