Setting up a group

You and your friends may have a good idea for a local project or activity that you feel is missing in the community

• You could set up a group to help address this.
  

How do you do this?

• Get others involved
• Plan what you want to achieve
• Put together a plan for how your group can achieve this (this would be called a constitution)
• You could even apply for funding to help get you started!!

• Or you volunteer with an existing group

There are lots of groups out there looking for people with your skills, energy and passions.

You couls gain that valuable experience, do training, meet others, build confidence and even try out a career path!!

• Press the red button on your TV's Community Channel
• Look out for groups advertising for volunteers

• Getting your voice heard

• You may have an opinion or idea on issues that effect you in your community
• This may be within school, the area where you live or more national issues
• Wigan Council welcomes your views and encourages you to tell them about the issues you face
