Who can be members
The membership of CVS should reflect the whole breadth of the voluntary sector, including non-traditional and disadvantaged groups. Membership is open to all voluntary and community organisations whose aims and objectives are consistent with CVS’s own aims and objectives and is considered without reference to race, gender, sexuality, religion or disability.
Membership Criteria
Membership is open to any group which has the following:

Five or more members

Clearly defined aims, purpose or mission

A set of rules, guidelines or constitution

Financial record keeping system
CVS will assist any existing or prospective group to develop any or all of the above criteria if they do not have them.
Any group wishing to join CVS will agree to the following:
Affiliated membership
Affiliated membership may be open to other agencies and bodies e.g. public sector, national and regional voluntary organisations, who have similar aims and objectives. Affiliated members will not have a vote and may not be elected to the Management Committee.
Who may not join CVS
Party political organisations or trade unions
Commercial organisations and/or profit distributing organisations
