Safeguarding Adults
Wigan and Leigh CVS has an agreement with Wigan Council where by all Voluntary and Community Groups can access Safeguarding Adults Training though the local authority. The training you need will be dependant on the role which you undertake in your organisation. To discuss which training best suits your needs and to express and interest in the training please contact Beaulah Gowen, Business Development Manager,
Please note the Council process is to take referrals and then confirm the dates so we will be unable to give you exact dates of the training, these will be confirmed directly with you once dates are confirmed and you are allocated a place.
Safeguarding Children
It is essential that anyone supporting or working directly with children, young people and their families are equipped with the correct knowledge and skills so that they can ensure children and young people are appropriately safeguarded and that their welfare is promoted.
Wigan and Leigh CVS work closely with the Wigan Safeguarding Children’s Board to identify and ensure access to appropriate training that meets the needs of the workforce across all sectors. The work we do ‘behind the scenes’ allows us to offer you access to this training FREE OF CHARGE.
In order to access the training you will need to have completed a Training Needs Analysis. Please click here to see the full booking process (2011 WSCB Document)
All the dates for training which relate to safeguarding children can be found at www.wiganlscb.com
