Wigan Borough's new vinvolved team is part of CVS, with support from partners and funding from the National Youth Volunteering Programme, v.

Based in CVS' building on Church Street in Leigh, the project aims to work with a range of local organisations to develop new volunteering opportunities for 16 to 25 year olds and recruit and match young people to potential opportunities

Meet the team

Youth Volunteering Development Manager—Catherine Akehurst “This is an exciting project and there is a lot of great work locally we can build on to make young people’s volunteering a success in the borough”. I co-ordinate the project and work with a range of local organisations to develop new & existing volunteering opportunities and promote positive ways of working with young volunteers.

Youth Volunteer Advisor—Francesca Slattery “Young people have so much to offer and so much to gain as volunteers, I am looking forward to working with local young people”. I work with 16 to 25 year olds to help support them into relevant and exciting volunteering opportunities that build on their passions and energy
