Once you have decided that volunteering is for you, you then need to choose a group or organisation that will suit your needs and interests.

There are many different ways of finding out about voluntary opportunities:…

  • vinvolved

This is a volunteering project for 16-25 year olds. We can help you find suitable and exciting opportunities based on your interests and skills to meet your needs. We can offer support to help you find out about a wide range of local opportunities, get started and find training opportunities.

Our contact details can be found here.

  • Word of mouth

Talk to your friends and ask if they have used or are aware of any good local services that recruit volunteers.

  • Newspapers

Many volunteer organisations advertise in the local press for volunteers.

  • Libraries and community buildings

Look on notice boards and leaflet racks in your local library, GP surgery, at the Post Office, or at your local community centre.

  • The internet

Why not surf the internet and log onto www.vinspired.com to find out about local opportunities? You can search by areas of interest, activities you would like to get involved in or generally by your postcode. Through the website you can now register your interest in volunteering by completing a simple form online. This is sent to vinvolved who will respond to your request within a few days.
